- Tony Buckingham, founded Albion Energy in 1992 and through Albion built up Heritage Oil from a private company to a FTSE 250 player with a proven track record of multi billion dollar value creation.
- The Albion Team were key to the analysis, investment decisions and operational performance that took the company forward to becoming the fifth largest E&P company listed on the London Stock Exchange
- Discovered more than 2 billion barrels gross of oil and the largest gas field to be discovered in Iraq for over three decades
- Operated successfully in challenging environments throughout Africa and developing countries including Angola, Ghana, Republic of Congo, Uganda, Tanzania, Kurdistan, Pakistan and Papua New Guinea

- 1993 – Angolan producing assets Kiami & Kiabo
- 1997 – Awarded operatorship in Kouilou
- 2001 – M’Boundi field discovered in the Kouilou exploration permit
- 2002 – Sold 30% in Kouilou to Maurel et Prom ($35mm)
- 2004 – Sold M’Boundi royalty to Maurel et Prom ($30.4mm)
- 2006 – Congo assets sold to Afren ($28mm plus 1.5mm warrants)
Uganda
- 1997 – Awarded 100% and operatorship of Block 3
- 2004 – Awarded additional operatorship and 50% in Block 1 & 3A
- 2008 – Announced Warthog, Kingfisher & Buffalo discoveries
- 2010 – Sold Uganda assets to Tullow Oil for $1.45billion
Kurdistan
- 2007 – Signed PSC with KRG for the Miran Block as operator
- 2009 – Announced major discovery in the Miran Block
- 2012 – Miran Block sold to Genel Energy (c. $450mm)
Nigeria
- 2012 – Acquisition of OML30 production assets for $850mm
- 2014 – Holding company sold to Al Mirqab Capital for $1.5 billion
